Prime Min­is­ter Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar has con­grat­u­lat­ed the Ho­n­ourable Chief Jus­tice Ron­nie Boodoos­ingh on his ap­point­ment as Chief Jus­tice of Trinidad and To­ba­go.

In an of­fi­cial state­ment is­sued to­day, the Prime Min­is­ter de­scribed Chief Jus­tice Boodoos­ingh’s el­e­va­tion as a fit­ting recog­ni­tion of his “il­lus­tri­ous le­gal ca­reer span­ning more than three decades,” marked by “ex­cel­lence, in­tegri­ty, and an un­wa­ver­ing com­mit­ment to the rule of law.” He has served as a Jus­tice of Ap­peal for the past five years and has earned the re­spect of the le­gal fra­ter­ni­ty and the wider pub­lic for his “sound judg­ment, fair­ness, and ded­i­ca­tion to jus­tice.”

“On be­half of the Gov­ern­ment and peo­ple of Trinidad and To­ba­go, I ex­tend warm con­grat­u­la­tions to Chief Jus­tice Boodoos­ingh on his ap­point­ment and best wish­es for con­tin­ued suc­cess as he as­sumes this vi­tal role in ser­vice to our na­tion,” the Prime Min­is­ter said.
