“Why was my uncle murdered? Why must another family endure this kind of pain?”
Those were the words of grieving Moruga/Tableland Member of Parliament and Minister of Culture and Community Development, Michelle Benjamin, in a social media post responding to the tragic killing of her uncle, Marvin Hamilton, on Saturday.
The post read, “Gone too soon. Got the call since 7 a.m., and even now, at 10.00 p.m., I’m still asking myself why. Why was my uncle murdered? Why does another family have to endure this kind of pain? Marvin Hamilton, my father’s little brother, a father, a son, a friend, my uncle, lost his life in a senseless act of violence. Our community is shaken, our hearts are heavy, and our family is broken. No one deserves to die this way. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
