A Moruga man was shot dead early yesterday while sitting in his vehicle awaiting roadside assistance.
The victim has been identified as Marvin Hamilton, 37, of Muralie Trace, St Mary’s. Police said Hamilton experienced mechanical difficulties with his Nissan B-14 and called for a tow around 2 a.m. While waiting on Moruga Road, he was approached by an unknown number of individuals who attempted to gain access to the vehicle but were unsuccessful.
Around 2.46 a.m., residents reported hearing gunfire. Officers of the St Mary’s Police Station responded and found Hamilton slumped inside the car, which had a bullet hole in the front passenger window. He was pronounced dead at the scene by a District Medical Officer.
