Fired Central Bank governor Dr Alvin Hilaire is seeking $9.8 million in damages for what he describes as an “orchestrated plot” to illegally remove him from office.
Hilaire was fired in June and replaced with former finance minister Larry Howai.
In providing an update to his wrongful dismissal action, Hilaire told the Express via WhatsApp yesterday that, since his termination, discussions initiated by the State towards an out-of-court settlement have been “inconclusive”.
