Attorneys representing former Central Bank governor Dr Alvin Hilaire have issued a pre-action protocol letter to the Attorney General on his behalf, challenging what they describe as his “wrongful termination”.

“Today my attorneys at law issued a pre-action protocol letter to the Cabinet (via the Attorney General and the Cabinet Secretary) concerning my wrongful termination as Governor. I am hopeful that the matter will be expeditiously settled,” Hilaire said in a WhatsApp message to the Express yesterday.

There was no response to follow-up questions reques­ting a copy of the pre-action letter or the names of the attorneys involved.
