Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has warned lawbreakers to leave communities where special operations are implemented, declaring yesterday that her Government intends to unleash tough measures against criminals under the newly-enacted Special Operations (SO) law.
“I suggest they leave areas where the SO is going to be implemented. We are going to implement hard policing measures in these areas,” Persad-Bissessar said, when asked what message she had for law breakers now that the legislation is in place.
The Prime Minister, who chairs the National Security Council, said she could say with certainty that special operations would be conducted in areas controlled by the United National Congress (UNC).
