Min­is­ter of Pub­lic Util­i­ties Bar­ry Padarath said the Wa­ter and Sew­er­age Au­thor­i­ty (WASA) should have com­mu­ni­cat­ed more ef­fec­tive­ly with the pub­lic about the sever­i­ty of a leak along the Beetham High­way that caused a ma­jor traf­fic back­up on the first day of school.

He said WASA re­port­ed that one of its ma­jor pipelines rup­tured yes­ter­day evening in the vicin­i­ty of the Light­house. Emer­gency work was car­ried out up to 5 a.m. to fix the prob­lem.
