MinÂisÂter of PubÂlic UtilÂiÂties BarÂry Padarath said the WaÂter and SewÂerÂage AuÂthorÂiÂty (WASA) should have comÂmuÂniÂcatÂed more efÂfecÂtiveÂly with the pubÂlic about the severÂiÂty of a leak along the Beetham HighÂway that caused a maÂjor trafÂfic backÂup on the first day of school.
He said WASA reÂportÂed that one of its maÂjor pipelines rupÂtured yesÂterÂday evening in the vicinÂiÂty of the LightÂhouse. EmerÂgency work was carÂried out up to 5 a.m. to fix the probÂlem.
