VENEZUELAN national Edimir Gonzalez, 25, who was shot and killed by an off-duty policeman on Saturday, was believed to be defending a woman who was being harassed.

The police officer, proprietor of a bar in Chaguanas, also operates another bar in the Central community.

The Express was told this was not the first time the officer has drawn his gun during an altercation at the bar.
