A man who police identified as Venezuelan was fatally shot in an exchange of gunfire with police officers in New Grant on Wednesday. 

The fatal shooting occurred when police officers responded to a tip-off that four men with firearms were seen in the district. The deceased is yet to be identified, police said. 

A police report stated that around 2.30 p.m., officers attached to the Southern Division Task Force (SDTF) responded to a report that a group of men were seen armed with firearms along the Torrib Tabaquite Road.
