A night out at a popular San Juan bar ended in bloodshed on Thursday when a lone gunman ambushed a group of limers, killing a 31-year-old man and injuring another before fleeing. An off-duty police officer who was among the group opened fire at the suspect as he escaped.
The deceased has been identified as Mckel Browne, 31, of Mt. D’or, Champ Fleurs. He was pronounced dead at 9.10 p.m. at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex (EWMSC) after being rushed there by patrons.
Police said the shooting took place around 8 p.m. at King Style Bar, located at the corner of Bridge Road and the Eastern Main Road, San Juan. Officers attached to the North Eastern Division were on mobile patrol when they received a report of gunfire at the location.
