THE office of the Commissioner of Police (CoP) has been ordered by the court to hand over documents to Rosanna Smith in relation to the over four-year- long investigation into the questionable death of her only daughter, Maria Kathleen Smith.
Smith was successful in her judicial review motion, as the judge declared that the refusal to provide the reports was unreasonable, irrational and an abuse of power. Maria Kathleen Smith, 21, was found dead in the front passenger seat of a white Kia Rio parked in a forested area at Spring Bridge. Blanchisseuse, in October 2021. She was covered with a blanket from neck to toe and a hose, attached to the car's muffler, ran through an opening in one of the windows.
Maria's death was classified as a suicide although the investigation was on-going. Her mother, a retired nurse and former office manager, sought information from the police in relation to Maria's demise.
