Attorney General John Jeremie has disclosed that the man alleged to have ordered the assassination of State prosecutor Randall Hector has been in custody since last year and is being held at Teteron Barracks, Chaguaramas.
Jeremie made the disclosure as he piloted the Special Operations Bill, 2026 in the House of Representatives yesterday, invoking Hector’s brazen murder as he argued for tougher measures to dismantle gangs and their criminal networks.
Hector, 43, was shot dead on Old Year’s Night 2024, shortly after leaving the Stanmore Avenue Seventh Day Adventist Church, Port of Spain, where he had participated in the church’s year-end service.
