THE GOOD FRIDAY bobolees of two senior managers at the Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago (TSTT) were beaten “mercilessly” yesterday as staff members protested their continued operations at the company during a midday protest at the company’s downtown Port of Spain headquarters.
Led by Communication Workers’ Union (CWU) secretary-general Joanne Ogeer, approximately ten workers held placards decrying the company’s chairman, Kern Dass; chief Human Resource officer Deborah Thomas; and the vice-president—Technical, Rattan Boodram.
There were effigies of all three managers, but the one of Thomas was not beaten, as Ogeer explained: “We don’t beat women.” The manager, however, was not spared from criticism.
