The ComÂmuÂniÂcaÂtions WorkÂers’ Union (CWU) is urgÂing the Joint Trade Union MoveÂment (JTUM) to acÂtiveÂly deÂfend workÂers’ rights, deÂspite the coaliÂtion the orÂganÂiÂsaÂtion has formed with the GovÂernÂment of Trinidad and ToÂbaÂgo.
“The GovÂernÂment is a UNC GovÂernÂment with a coaliÂtion of inÂterÂests, but whose inÂterÂests are beÂing served? As a matÂter of fact, we have a presÂence of labour unions in ParÂliaÂment, but they are on mute,” CWU SecÂreÂtary GenÂerÂal Joanne Ogeer said durÂing a lunchtime protest outÂside the TelecomÂmuÂniÂcaÂtions SerÂvices of Trinidad and ToÂbaÂgo’s (TSTT) head ofÂfice yesÂterÂday.
