Govt. spent $64.5B on roads, bridges in first half of 2026 - Mid-Year Report

(Kaieteur News) – Government expended some $64.5 billion on roads and bridges across the country during the first six months of 2026, according to the Ministry of Finance’s 2026 mid-year report.
Of the amount, $60.7 billion was spent on improving roads, while $3.8 billion was expended on bridges.
“Government continues to invest in improved integration, traffic flow, connectivity, and access to new lands. To this end, in the first half of the year, $64.5 billion was expended on improving roads and bridges,” the ministry said in the report, released on Monday.
