Govt. inks contract to upgrade 30km of roadway between Mabura Hill & Kurupukari – Min. Edghill

(Kaieteur News) – Minister of Public Works, Juan Edghill recently announced that the government has signed a new contract to continue the upgrade of the Linden to Lethem road corridor, this time, it is to construct some 30km of asphaltic concrete road between Mabura Hill and Kurupukari.

Speaking at a Cabinet Outreach in Region 10 last week, the minister was listing some “major transformative” projects underway in and around the region, boasting that his government in the last five years exceeded $100 billion on infrastructure for the region.

“Some very major transformative things are happening: by the end of September, the new four-lane (Wismar-Mackenzie) bridge will be ready, they are 80% complete with the Linden to Mabura road. We have just signed a contract to continue another 30 km beyond Mabura to keep going to Kurupukari to get it done,” he told residents.
