AG warns drug traffickers

ATTORNEY General John Jeremie has sounded a blunt warning to drug traffickers who believe they continue to enjoy protection or influence within the State: Quit while you are ahead.

Jeremie issued the warning in the Senate yesterday as he defended the Special Operations Bill, 2026, insisting that the Government would not retreat from its offensive against gangs, narcotics trafficking and organised crime.

“Mr President, we say again this morning, if you are involved in the trafficking of narcotics, if you think that you have the in with the State that you have enjoyed for a decade, the message is simple. I am asking you to quit while you are ahead,” he said.
