A 57-year-old taxi driver was robbed of his vehicle in Sangre Grande on Thursday night.
Police said around 8.10 pm, Kelvin Ramoutar of Nariva Road No. 3, Manzanilla, was operating his silver Nissan Y11, registration PBY 6259, for hire near Top of the Line Meat Mart on the Eastern Main Road. He was approached by three men who asked to be taken to Manrick Street.
When they arrived, the men asked him to turn into the street. Ramoutar became suspicious and refused, but the suspects then announced a robbery. He was placed in a headlock, pulled from the car and thrown onto the roadway before the men drove off with the vehicle.
