A fe­male po­lice con­sta­ble who at­tacked a pupil at a school in Port-of-Spain has been charged with as­sault by beat­ing of a mi­nor.

This fol­lows sev­er­al months of in­ves­ti­ga­tions in­to the in­ci­dent on May 7, in which the 11-year-old vic­tim was re­port­ed­ly as­sault­ed by the of­fi­cer, who is the moth­er of an­oth­er pupil at­tend­ing the same school.

Ac­cord­ing to re­ports, there was an al­ter­ca­tion be­tween the two pupils, af­ter which the of­fi­cer al­leged­ly con­front­ed and phys­i­cal­ly as­sault­ed the oth­er child.
