A woman police constable has been charged with assault by beating after allegedly attacking an 11-year-old pupil at a primary school in Port of Spain earlier this year.
According to police reports, around 2:30 p.m. on May 7, the officer, who is the mother of another student at the school, allegedly confronted and physically assaulted the child in the school’s courtyard following an altercation between the two students.
Teachers intervened to stop the incident, and the boy was later taken for medical attention. A report was made to the Professional Standards Bureau (PSB), prompting an internal investigation.
