…new portal allows applicants to study, register, sit theoretical test online
The Government is expanding the use of technology across public services and law enforcement, with passport applications, traffic enforcement and several administrative processes increasingly moving to digital platforms as part of efforts to improve efficiency, transparency and accountability.
Home Affairs Minister Oneidge Walrond highlighted these developments on Friday during the launch of the digital Driver’s Licence Portal at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre (ACCC), Liliendaal, noting that the shift towards technology was changing how Government agencies deliver services and carry out their responsibilities. Walrond pointed to passport services as one example, explaining that applicants can now initiate processes online rather than having to visit an office simply to begin an application or arrange an appointment.
