The government’s drive to modernise public service delivery is gaining pace, with 79 government services now available online and further services expected to be digitised before the end of the year.
The development forms part of the government’s broader digital transformation agenda to make public services more accessible, reduce processing times and limit the need for citizens to visit government offices in person. According to the 2026 Mid-Year Report, several agencies expanded their use of digital platforms during the first half of the year, with government services increasingly being delivered through online portals and integrated service centres.
Among the developments is the continued expansion of online revenue administration services through the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA). During the first six months of 2026, more than 85,000 tax returns were filed through the GRA’s eServices platform. The platform is also expected to facilitate online payments using Mobile Money Guyana and debit cards before the end of the year.
