A Mayaro man was fatally shot in a confrontation with police officers on Monday.
Ainsley Glenn Gonzales, of Calmapas Village, Guayaguayare, was shot by the officers in a confrontation at the Guayaguayare Fishing Port.
A police report stated that around 2 a.m., officers of the Mayaro police Station responded to information that Gonzales was in possession of a firearm.
