There have been 20 police killings for the year thus far, with 14 of the killings occurring during the ongoing state of emergency (SoE) which came into effect on March 3.
Included among those killed are a number of home invasion suspects. Families of four of the dead men have since questioned police use of force and called for thorough investigations into their deaths.
Last Friday, Police Complaints Authority (PCA) head David West confirmed to the Express that, at that time, 13 had been killed in ten police-involved shooting incidents during the SoE.
