The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) has announced that customers in several areas in Central and Southwest Trinidad will receive a reduced water supply due to emergency repairs at the Desalination Company of Trinidad and Tobago (Desalcott).
In a release Monday WASA reported Desalcott is currently experiencing electrical issues at the Point Lisas Desalination Plant. The emergency repairs are expected to be completed by 10.30 a.m. on Tuesday.
"During this period, water delivery from Desalcott to WASA will be reduced to 30 million gallons per day, down from the usual 40 million gallons per day," the release stated.
