Police tracked a stolen cellphone to an area in Beetham Gardens hours after an overnight robbery on Monday. The device was taken by six men who broke into a San Juan apartment shared by two victims around 3.30.a.m.
The victims told police that they had gone to bed at their Boundary Road apartment shortly after midnight, leaving its burglar proofing unsecured. They were awoken by noise and saw the six men, masked and dressed in dark clothing inside the apartment.
One male victim was beaten by the men. Both he and a female victim were later bound with duct tape. The male victim freed himself and ran out of the apartment, causing the suspects to run away and escape in a Nissan Tiida.
