(Kaieteur News) – Australian-based Liberty Metals, has disclosed that it is not targeting a small discovery but instead looking for a multi-million-ounce gold discovery at its newly acquired gold projects in Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni).
On August 12, Liberty announced that it had acquired a 90% interest in the Oko North and Oko South Gold Projects, a package of 40 granted medium-scale mining permits covering approximately 180 square kilometres (km²) in Guyana’s Oko gold district – an area where nine-million-ounces of gold have already been established by other foreign players.
During a webinar on the acquisition, Liberty Metals’ Technical Advisor, Christopher Piggott noted that there is mineralisation across both parts of the Oko district where the company’s projects are located. Liberty’s land package is spread across two consolidated blocks located about 60 kilometres apart within the Oko gold district.
