ForÂmer enÂerÂgy minÂisÂter StuÂart Young is deÂfendÂing the PNM’s record on the reÂstrucÂturÂing of AtÂlantic LNG, arÂguÂing that the agreeÂment comÂpletÂed in DeÂcemÂber 2023 is reÂsponÂsiÂble for highÂer revÂenues now beÂing earned by the NaÂtionÂal Gas ComÂpaÂny (NGC) and the State.
In a FaceÂbook post yesÂterÂday, Young said the reÂstrucÂturÂing was conÂceived as a PNM polÂiÂcy in 2018 and inÂvolved five years of neÂgoÂtiÂaÂtions with enÂerÂgy comÂpaÂnies bp and Shell.
He deÂscribed the reÂstrucÂturÂing as “unÂpreceÂdentÂed globÂalÂly”, claimÂing it had nevÂer preÂviÂousÂly been done elseÂwhere.
