An Opposition motion seeking to hold the Government accountable for the country’s water supply collapsed yesterday after former public utilities minister, Arouca/Lopinot MP Marvin Gonzales failed to say “I beg to move” before his allotted time expired, causing a procedural error.
Gonzales’ failure to move his motion led to no debate taking place on it following his contribution.
House Speaker Jagdeo Singh did not allow the debate to move forward, following a break to determine the outcome, and did not acknowledge an attempt to second the motion.
