After a video of a missing 13-year-old child was posted to social media by the Hunters’ Search and Rescue Team led by Shamsudeen Ayube this morning, questions over the ethics of publicising and shaming of children have been raised by advocates.
The video posted earlier today purports to depict a teen girl who had been missing for 25 days, located in a forested area in the company of an adult male.
Ayube, a national awardee who leads what he says is the “Registered” HSRT is depicted in the video addressing the child directly, stating “You know you have been missing for days and you were with this fella, this kinda hardback man.”
