The couple kidnapped from their Monos Island home over the weekend, Derek “Stones” Tardieu, 70, and his wife Claribel, 47, remained in the hands of their abductors up to this afternoon, even as police continued investigations into their disappearance.

The Tardieus were snatched from their residence on Saturday night. Hours later, relatives received a disturbing video showing the couple standing before bushes in daylight, with an assault rifle pointed at Derek’s head and a hand grenade held close to his face. Derek was ordered to plead for assistance and demand a ransom of US$2.5 million.
