About 81% of teachers reported for duty in schools across the country on Ash Wednesday, while pupil attendance was around 20%, the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers’ Association (TTUTA) said yesterday.
TTUTA president Martin Lum Kin is calling on parents to do better.
Speaking on TV6’s Morning Edition, Lum Kin yesterday acknowledged that poor pupil attendance following Carnival, and especially on Ash Wednesday, has been a trend for many years.
