The Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers’ Association (TTUTA) has reported a high level of absenteeism among teachers and students for a second day across schools in Trinidad and Tobago.
This follows what is believed to be the second day of a silent protest by teachers after they failed to receive their promised new salaries this month.
TTUTA president Crystal Ashe said yesterday that the absenteeism at the nation’s schools continued for a second day, but insisted the low attendance by teaching staff was not a directive from the association.
