The man who allegedly bludgeoned to death a 68-year-old woman at her home in Valsayn, told police it was because he was betrayed.
On Christmas Eve, around 12:49 a.m., first responders from St. Joseph Police Station responded to a report of a homicide at Nanan Street, Bamboo #1, Valsayn. Upon arrival, they were met by Christina Sooknanan, 40, daughter of the deceased, who reported that her sister Anisa Madoo-Jagroop had been contacted by the suspect, who confessed to killing his partner, Shaffina Hosein Madoo, and ingesting poison.
Officers entered the residence and found the deceased, Shaffina Hosein Madoo, lying motionless on her back inside the home. She was covered in blood. The suspect was located nearby, visibly unwell from ingesting a poisonous substance.
