A 29-year-old man identified as Romario Borneo was shot and killed during a police-involved incident in St Mary’s Village, Moruga, in the early hours of Friday.
According to police, around 1:30 a.m., officers attached to the Marabella Police Station acted on information about a robbery suspect at a wooden structure along Moruga Road. A team of officers proceeded to the location, announced their presence and entered the premises.
Police reported that they encountered Borneo, who was allegedly armed with a shotgun. Officers said he pointed the weapon in their direction and was instructed to drop it. When he failed to comply, officers discharged their firearms.
