A 25-year-old man was assaulted and robbed of his vehicle and personal belongings Monday morning after arranging to meet someone through the social media application Grindr.
The incident occurred around 12.45 a.m. on June 9, after the victim arranged to meet an individual he was interacting with via the app, which is the world's largest LGBTQ+ social networking app.
He told police he drove to Sun Valley Road, Lower Santa Cruz, in a grey Mitsubishi Lancer where he was expected to meet the individual he was talking to. However, he was instead confronted by two men.
