A Penal couple was lured to San Juan under the pretense of an air-conditioning installation job, then beaten and robbed of over $11,000 in cash and equipment on Tuesday. Police later arrested three suspects linked to the incident.
Around 11:50 a.m., the victims drove to Weekes Trace, San Juan, after a man who gave his name as “Terry” requested installation services. When they arrived, one of the suspects directed the technician to the back of a concrete structure where he was placed in a chokehold by another man who announced a robbery. He was relieved of his wallet, cash, and identification cards.
Meanwhile, the second victim, who had remained inside their vehicle, was forced out and taken behind the building, where she was placed in a chokehold, beaten, and robbed of her ID.
