PoĀlice are inĀvesĀtiĀgatĀing three murĀders that ocĀcurred beĀtween 12.30 am and 11 am yesĀterĀday in north Trinidad, pushĀing the naĀtionĀal homiĀcide toll to 272 for the year. For the same peĀriĀod in 2024, the figĀure stood at 475.
The first killing took place around 12.35 am in TuĀnaĀpuna, when AnĀton George, 32, was shot mulĀtiĀple times while walkĀing home at UpĀper Achong Hill, off BaltĀhazĀar Street.
George, a meĀchanĀiĀcal enĀgiĀneer, is beĀlieved to have been apĀproached by a lone asĀsailant who opened fire. ResĀiĀdents who came out afĀter hearĀing gunĀshots found him lyĀing in a grassy track, his house keys beĀside him.
