Police in St. Joseph arrested 28 illegal immigrants and recovered 100 rounds of 9mm ammunition during an operation in Curepe early Sunday morning.
The exercise, which ran from 10:30 p.m. on Sunday to 1:30 a.m. today, was conducted at the corner of Rapsey Street and Knowles Street.
Of those arrested, six were females and 22 males. No illegal items were found on the individuals. A search of the area, assisted by a police K-9, led to the discovery of 100 rounds of 9mm ammunition in a plastic crate. No arrests were made in connection with the ammunition.
