SAN Juan/Laventille Regional Corporation chairman Richard Walcott is urging the Government to reverse its directive to halt the release of the corporation’s audited unspent balance of $3 million.
A memorandum from the Ministry of Rural Development and Local Government on August 26 stated it held a meeting with the Minister of Finance regarding recurrent funding for municipal corporations.
It further said that at the meeting, a decision was made that “the processing of Unspent Balances at Municipal Corporations for the Financial Year 2024/2025 will be suspended”.
