(Kaieteur News) – Shadow Minister of Natural Resources, Sharma Solomon has called on the Government of Guyana (GoG) to stop treating Guyanese like spectators of their oil wealth, citing a blackout of information relating to the sector.
In a letter to the editor this week, the A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) Member of Parliament highlighted what he described as not just disrespect, but a direct attempt by the administration to stymie national planning.
Solomon said, “The recent Rockhead-1 discovery is another example of the Government’s failure to keep Guyanese informed about their own resources. ExxonMobil’s Vice President of Global Exploration, John Ardill, disclosed the discovery in London during the Energy Intelligence Forum on October 5-6, 2026.”
