The Ministry of Tertiary Education and Skills Training (MTEST) has welcomed a decision by The University of the West Indies (The UWI) to not increase tuition fees at the St Augustine campus.
The ministry said in a release yesterday the decision was taken by The UWI University Council during a meeting on May 8.
According to the release, the decision followed “sustained engagement and direct representation” by Government through the ministry regarding proposed tuition fee increases at the campus.
