The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is warning citizens against participating in a planned protest set for Wednesday, May 27th, noting that no permission was requested or granted for the event.
In a media release, the TTPS acknowledged the public’s constitutional right to peaceful protest but stressed that T&T remains under a State of Emergency, with specific legal restrictions in place.
Police warned that any attempt to assemble without authorisation during the SOE will be considered a violation of the law and could result in immediate action, including dispersal, arrests, and prosecution.
