Broadcaster, activist, and businessman Inshan Ishmael has died. He passed away on Friday after several years of illness with cancer. He was 57.

His son, Zaakir Ishmael, announced his passing in a social media post, writing:

“Salaams and good morning, I regret to inform [you of] the passing of my dad, Inshan Ishmael. He passed peacefully this morning among his family. Funeral (janazah) arrangements will be posted Inshallah. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un (Surely we belong to Allah and to Him is our return).”
