For more than two decades, Inshan Ishmael has been a familiar voice and face in Trinidad and Tobago—fearless, outspoken, and passionate, whether as a businessman, broadcast journalist, or activist.

In recent days, however, his voice carries a different tone: quieter, reflective, but still unwavering in purpose.

Two weeks ago, Ishmael stunned his supporters when he revealed a year-long battle with cancer. Diagnosed with urothelial carcinoma, a type of cancer that begins in the urinary system, his revelation was heartfelt, personal, and raw.
