Busi­ness­man and ac­tivist, In­shan Ish­mael, has died at the age of 57.

He had been bat­tling can­cer for the last few years.

His son, Za­akir Ish­mael, post­ed on so­cial me­dia, “Salaams and good morn­ing, I re­gret to in­form [you of] the pass­ing of my dad, In­shan Ish­mael. He passed peace­ful­ly this morn­ing among his fam­i­ly. Fu­ner­al (janazah) arrange­ments will be post­ed In­shal­lah. In­na lil­lahi wa in­na ilay­hi ra­ji’un (Sure­ly we be­long to Al­lah and to Him is our re­turn).”
