Drivers arrested following accident that left sections of Georgetown in blackout

(Kaieteur News) – Two drivers are reportedly in police custody following an accident on Tuesday afternoon which caused a blackout in sections of Kitty, Georgetown.
According to the Guyana Power and Light Inc. (GPL), the accident occurred around 15:30hrs along the Kitty Public Road, between Queen Street and Vlissengen Road.
The accident involved a Canter truck and a car and resulted in damage to GPL’s electricity network.
