Global Biodiversity Alliance jumps from 17 to 138 members - President Ali tells UN

(Kaieteur News) – The Guyana-led Global Biodiversity Alliance (GBA) has grown from 17 founding members to 138 in just over a year, President Irfaan Ali told the United Nations General Assembly on Thursday.
President Ali highlighted the growth of the Alliance while addressing the 81st Session of the General Assembly in New York, where he said Guyana had committed to providing global leadership on biodiversity.
“In July 2025, under Guyana’s leadership, the Global Biodiversity Alliance was established as an inclusive platform,” he told the global meeting.
