A PASSION for science and a drive to make a difference have earned Presentation College, Chaguanas, Lower Six student Khavir Manbode a place at the prestigious 2026 National Youth Science Camp in West Virginia, USA.

Khavir was recently announced as Trinidad and Tobago's sole participant in the programme, which runs from July 11 to August 1. The announcement was made jointly by the United States Embassy in Port of Spain and the National Institute of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (NIHERST).

Speaking with the Express yesterday, the aspiring doctor said the selection process began earlier this year with an application that included a résumé and recommendation letters from his teachers and mentors.
