HUNDREDS of people seeking free eye surgery Monday at the Community Hospital of Seventh-day Adventists, Cocorite caused a massive traffic pile-up on the Western Main Road.
Outside the hospital was lined with traffic stretching from the Diego Martin Highway coming from the west, while from the east, several cars were seen stopping at the walkover that straddles the Western Main Road with some remarking that this was the most use the walkover ever got since its construction.
More than 1,200 people, most of them elderly, received free surgeries for cataracts and pterygium since Hands International began its humanitarian medical mission on May 14 at the hospital.
